Hey, my name is Dr. Ryan Carlson. I’m a neck pain expert right here in Bentonville, and I’m going to show you how not enough or not the right kind of sleep.

And actually be causing your neck pain. So one of the big things with sleep that you have to consider is this is where your body actually starts to rest, right? This is where it recuperates throughout the day. All the stresses that you dealt with throughout the day, this is your body’s ability to kind of put those to the wayside and start to recuperate so that you can have a good next day.

But what can happen is if you’re not getting enough sleep. Then the different muscles and the different tissues, the different nerves in your body, they don’t get the chance to adapt as well, and they don’t get the chance in order to recuperate so that you can have a proper day the next day after a poor night’s sleep.

So if you are dealing with neck pain, just know that this is actually one of the things that you can do at home in order to minimize those effects. Is get proper sleep. A lot of times it’s not going to be the end all be all as far as correcting that neck pain, but it can certainly help in the meantime because it allows your muscles to rest.
