Have you tried everything but are still dealing with neck pain? Hey, my name is Dr. Ryan Carlson. I’m a wellness neck pain expert here in Bentonville, and I’m going to talk to you about how you can actually use ice and heat at home in order to potentially help you out with your neck pain. So stay tuned for this video because we’re going to walk you through exactly how that works, because one of the main causes of neck pain.

Is actually when those fibers in the muscles and when the nerve fibers don’t work properly. And that can put abnormal tension on the nervous system, which controls how the muscles contract or relax throughout the day. And of course causes things like neck pain. So one of the ways that we can help out with that is eliminating inflammation in that area of the neck pain.

And one of the best ways to do that is actually ice. Ice takes down inflammation in the body. It decreases its abilities to wreak havoc on the different muscles and nerves. So ice is a really, really good thing to do. And what you want to do is spend 20 minutes with an ice pack. Over the area of discomfort.

You want to put a thin towel over the top of it so that you don’t freeze the skin, but make sure that you’re putting that ice pack right on the area where you’re feeling that tension 20 minutes. And then one of the best things that you can do is right after you’re done with the ice, a switch to a heat pack.

You see, when you switch between ice and heat. Ice and heat and just keep going back and forth like that. It actually has greater effects on lowering inflammation than if you had just used ice alone. So if you have a heat pack at home, even even if you don’t, you can go pick one up real cheap at Walmart, but when you switch between those two ice and heat, ice and heat, 20 minutes of each, that’s actually going to be the best route as far as eliminating inflammation in your area, or at least lessening it.

So that you have less neck pain as a result. Now, if you’ve tried that and it’s still not working for you, it’s one of the symptoms that we get the best results with in my office right here chiropractic care Bentonville because it’s one of the things that we help out so many of our patients with.
