If you’re dealing with neck pain, make sure that you tune into this video because I’m going to walk you through one of the main causes of what could be causing your neck pain. And that’s actually something called a curvature in the spine. So you may be heard of the word scoliosis before, and all that means is that there’s a sideways curvature of the spine, right?

I mean, something like this right here. However, it doesn’t always have to be something so severe like an injury. It’s actually only termed a scoliosis if it’s right around 20 degrees of curvature or more. So a lot of times if there’s even just a small amount of curvature, something like this right here where there’s just maybe five to ten five to 10 degrees of curvature, that can even put pressure on those nerves coming out of that bottom part of the neck.

Which go right to the muscles of the neck and can cause things like neck pain (Neck pain – Symptoms and causes). So one of the best ways to find out if there is any curvature in that spine would be to set, would be to take a set of motion study x-rays, where we can actually take films of the spine and see if there’s any curvature that could be putting pressure on the nerves in the neck.
Because another thing that we’ve got to look at is not only the sideways curvature. But also the curvature of the neck from the side, because here we’re supposed to have a real good 45 degree curve that keeps our head right over our shoulders. This person would be looking straight ahead this way.

However, what can happen is, because we’re always looking down at our devices, we’re having poor posture at our computer desks because at work we can actually lose this curve in the neck. Which can do similar things as far as putting pressure on those nerves that can potentially cause neck pain. So if you think you may be dealing with a curvature issue, whether it’s from the front or even from the side, losing that curve here, make sure that you actually hit the button down below in this video.

That’s going to take you to a separate page where you can input some information that’s actually going to start a conversation.
